Obituary

Garden City - Vera G. Glasco, 92, died February 10, 2012 at Homestead Nursing Home in Garden City . She was born on May 28, 1919 at Greenwood County, KS the daughter of Frank and Daisy (O'Burn) Brown .

She married Forrest Glasco on June 4, 1943 at Tarrant Field Air Base in Ft. Worth, Texas, he preceded her in death on July 4, 1990. Mrs. Glasco was a homemaker and was a member of the Election Board. She enjoyed teaching vacation bible school and studying the bible with her bible study group. She was a accomplished writer and poet, having many of her articles published in different magazines.

She was a member of the Wilroads Garden Christian Church and later attended the First Missionary Church all of Dodge City.

She is survived by two sons Brad Glasco of Inyokern, California; and Robin Glasco of Cripple Creek, Colorado; three daughters Vicki Olvang of Vange, Sweden; Jill Hemmert of Cimarron and Kathleen Ramsey of Garden City. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday, February 13, 2012 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Donors Choice in care of the funeral home.
