DODGE CITY-Vera Lucina (Myers) Krumrey, 89, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. She was born on June 19, 1919 in Mayetta, the daughter of Roy S. and Pearl (First) Myers.

On August 5, 1941, she married Johnie N. Krumrey. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1973. After their marriage, they lived at Meriden and Ozawkie. They moved to the Dodge City area in 1965 to raise their family. For a brief period of time, Vera moved to eastern Kansas before returning to Dodge City to be with her family.

She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star of Valley Falls.

Vera is survived by two daughters, Shirley Bogner and husband Joe of Dodge City and Nicki Roady and husband Bill of Wichita; six grandchildren, Michelle Swisher and husband Don of Wray, Colorado, Christi Bogner and Brian McGrew of Dodge City, John Bogner and wife Kaycie of Dodge City, Scott Bogner and wife Kala of Dodge City, Kimberly Milstead and husband Brian of Kansas City, and Christopher Vanosdall of Wichita; 16 great grandchildren, Jessica, Kassandra, and Daniel Swisher, Addyson, Makyna, Allysa, Bladen, Keaton, and Jersey Bogner, Jared, Peyton, Kyle, and Delaney Milstead, and Mason, Gavin, and Emiliya Vanosdall. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City, on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 10:30 AM with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. Burial will be on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Valley Falls Cemetery in Valley Falls, Kansas. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City, on Monday, May 25, 2009 from noon to 6:00 PM. Memorials can be made to Patriot Guard of SW Kansas in care of the funeral home.
