Dodge City - Vernon Agur, 90, died February 2, 2022 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.  He was born on November 25, 1931 at Dodge City, Kansas the son of O.L. and Alice (Perkins) Agur.

Vernon was a lifelong resident of Dodge City graduating from Dodge City High School as well as Dodge City Community College in 1949. He married Mary Lou (Thom) on March 16, 1954 at the First United Methodist Church in Dodge City she preceded him in death on January 19, 2019. Mr. Agur was a farmer and cattleman. Vernon and Mary Lou enjoyed traveling, square dancing and going to auctions.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Moose Lodge, Par Square Dance Club, Farm Bureau and past leader of Kean Klipper 4H Club all of Dodge City.

He is survived by a daughter Karen Agur of Dodge City; two sons Larry Agur and Roger Agur both of Dodge City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial service will be held at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. There will be a book signing on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Swaim Funeral Chapel.  Memorials are suggested to Ford County 4H Club in care of the funeral home.
