Sublette - Victor L. Chaffin, 70, died December 19, 2022 at Good Samaritan Society in Liberal.  He was born on October 15, 1952 at Garden City, the son of John Henry and Betty K. (Wallace) Chaffin, Jr.

Vic was a lifetime resident of Sublette.  He graduated from Sublette High School in 1970.  He went on to further his education at Hutchinson Business College, obtaining an Associates Degree in Accounting.  Vic also attended Fort Hays State University.  He returned to Sublette to join his father in the family farming business. Vic later owned and operated Chaffin Trucking.

Vic married Gina Spanier on April 16, 1977.  They made their home in Sublette where they raised their children.  He enjoyed racing, riding his Harley, working on motors, and  loved spoiling his children and grandchildren.  Vic was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.

Vic is survived by his children, John Chaffin and wife Robyn of Wichita, Ashley Chaffin of Sublette, Veronica Cullison of Satanta, and Alexis Spanier of Sublette and their mother, Gina Chaffin of Sublette; seven grandchildren, Ryleigh Chaffin, Faith Chaffin, Aidan Cullison, Angel Martinez, Andru Chaffin, Wesley Chaffin, and Avery Cullison; a brother, Lynn Chaffin and wife Marilyn of Kinsley; nephews, Aaron, Benjamin, and Justin; and great nephews and nieces.  He is preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Andru and Nicholas Chaffin, and a son-in-law, Edgar Martinez.

Funeral service will be held at Sublette Christian Church on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Haskell County Cemetery, Sublette.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Sublette on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from noon to 7:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to Vic Chaffin Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
