Obituary

Victoria A. Villegas, 68, died December 22, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital in Wichita. She was born on July 18, 1951 in Kinsley, the daughter of Florentino and Connie (Lopez) Chacon.

Victoria graduated from Dodge City High School in 1969.  She went on to further her education at Dodge City Community College where she attended Cosmetology School.  Victoria graduated at the top of her class with honors. She was among the top two students of her class. After graduation, Victoria went to work at Beauty Villa, where she built a large clientele. She was also a great mentor and teacher to others in the business. Victoria truly had a talent when it came to her beautician career.

In later years, she was a secretary for Community Corrections and the WIC Department.  Victoria then moved to Hawaii to live the good life for five years.  After returning to the mainland, she worked for New Chance, Inc. until she retired.  Victoria then became a happy-stay at home Grandmother.  She enjoyed cooking and baking.  Teaching her kids, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren her cooking and baking skills was a fun activity.  Victoria loved music, always listening to the oldies on Pandora.  She loved flowers of all kinds, lady bugs, and bumble bees.  Victoria was a kind hearted, strong, caring, and grateful woman that would do anything for anyone.  She always had an open door.  Victoria loved taking care of her grandchildren.  She was an amazing woman with a wonderful soul and beautiful heart and she will be greatly missed.

Victoria is survived by her children, Jerry "Chach Martinez and his life partner, Trish Rodriguez; Christopher "Marty" Martinez and wife Brenda Martinez-Cecil; Viviana Victoria Villegas; Nicolas Villegas and wife Ariel, Jesus "Chito" Flores and wife Yolanda; and Valentin "Tin" Chacon; sisters, Diana L. Fernandez, Lollie Chacon-Beltran, Florentina N. Chacon; and grandchildren, Christopher Bryton Martinez; Ciara, Lydia, and Sabian Valdez; A.J. and Reiyna Cecil; Acen, Anthony, Dominick, and Aleena Villegas; Xavion Nunez; Elima Kekoa; NaHailey, Nayleen, & Naylani Aldana-Flores; and Aaliyah Viviana Navarrate Chacon.  She is preceded in death by her parents and a grandchild.
