Obituary

Dodge City - Viola Rosebrook, 97, died February 27, 2018 at SunPorch of Dodge City.  She was born on July 18, 1920 at Gray County, the daughter of Jake and Amanda (Kane) Jantz.

Viola grew up in Gray County and attended Montezuma schools. She helped her mother take care of her younger siblings for many years.  On October 28, 1948 she married Charles Winfield "Winnie" Rosebrook at Wichita. Viola was a homemaker and cared for her brother Elmer in her home. She enjoyed taking care of her flower gardens and helping in her church whenever she was needed.  Viola also loved animals especially her four legged friend and companion Buddy.

She was a member of the First Missionary Church of Dodge City.

Viola is survived by a cousin, Rosella Nightengale of Chickasha, Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Winnie Rosebrook, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service will be held at First Missionary Church on Tuesday March 6, 2018 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Adam Rankin presiding.  Burial will follow at Greencrest Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Monday March 5, 2018 from Noon to 8:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to the First Missionary Church or SunPorch of Dodge City both in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
