SWANTON, OHIO - Viola Helen Williams, age 85, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Thursday morning, November 12, 2009 at Swanton Health Care & Retirement Center, where she recently received title as Resident of the Month. She was born May 7, 1924 in Long Beach, California to Ray Ernest & Helen Mary (Brinkman) Steele. She married Cyril Kenneth Williams, and he preceded her in death.
Viola was a beautiful cake decorator. She made several wedding and birthday cakes over the years. She enjoyed doing volunteer work, and she and her husband were home missionaries for their church.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Hazel M. (Ray) Wood of Swanton, OH, Beverly J. (Chuck) Little of Placentia, CA, and Terri A. (John) Terborg of Mesa, AZ; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister, Velma M. (Ray) Smith of Bellflower, CA.
Family and friends may visit Saturday, November 14th, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Graveside services will be held at Greencrest Cemetery, Dodge City on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Kirk Larson presiding.
