Dodge City - Virginia V. Pennington, 87, died Wednesday, July 4th, 2018 at her home in Dodge City, surrounded by friends and loved ones.  She was born on July 5 ^th , 1930 at Trinity Hospital in Dodge City, to Charles and Nettie (Nickels) Clinton.

Virginia began working for the First National Bank in Dodge City after graduating high school.  On August 6 ^th , 1950, she married Chester L. Pennington and together they raised two children.

She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Dodge City.

Survivors include: a cousin; Harriett Frazey -Ranney of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester Pennington;  two children, daughter Beverly and son Jeff Pennington, and a sister, Vivian Clinton of Dodge City.

Funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Monday July  9, 2018 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Jerre Nolte presiding.  Burial will follow at Greencrest Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Sunday July  8, 2018 from Noon to 6:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Prairie or Donor's Choice in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
