Sublette - Vivian Viola Quimby, 78, died August 7, 2020 at her home in Sublette surrounded by her family.  She was born on January 13, 1942 in Rolla, the daughter of Glen A. and Thelma (Dixon) Randle.

Vivian spent her childhood on the farm near Rolla.  She attended Rolla schools, graduating from Rolla High School in 1960.  On June 25, 1960, she married Dennie Lee Quimby in Hugoton.  After their marriage, they lived in Southwest Kansas, Oklahoma Panhandle, and Texas Panhandle before moving to Sublette in 1985.  Vivian was a seamstress, altering clothing and repairing upholstery for many people.  She also worked as a clerk in various retail stores.  Vivian enjoyed gardening and making stained glass.  She was very crafty, making many things for her grandchildren.  Vivian loved spending time with her family.  Family reunions and picnics were a special time for her.

Vivian is survived by three sons, Glen Quimby and wife Connie of Satanta; Michael Quimby of Garfield; and Jeffery Quimby of Wylie, Texas; a daughter, Frances Lothman and husband Shane of Point Comfort, Texas; daughter-in-law, Meredith Quimby of Sublette; three sisters, Glennetta Cooper and husband Jack of Tyrone, Oklahoma; Ann Dirks of St. Francis; and Nina Henson of Woodward, Oklahoma; one brother, Randy Randle and wife Gonza of Rolla; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennie; and a son, Brian Quimby.

A Celebration of Vivian's life will be held at the Sublette City Park on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Pastor David Erwin presiding.  Friends and family are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to the service.  There is no visitation as cremation has taken place.  Memorials are suggested to St. Catherine Hospice in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel – PO Box 607 – Sublette, KS 67877.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
