Dodge City - Wanda M. Denton, 89, died January 4, 2020 at Trinity Manor in Dodge City.  She was born on November 8, 1930 in Dodge City, the daughter of Clarence and Hettie (Nickell) Cooley.

As a child, Wanda attended school in Dodge City.  She graduated from Bazine High School.  On May 31, 1947, she married Gordon T. Denton.  He preceded her in death on July 16, 2003. She lived in Dodge City and worked for Walmart for many years.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Dodge City.

Wanda is survived by a daughter, Geraldine Heckart of Olathe, two grandchildren, Amy Lawson and John Heckart; five great grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gordon; daughter, Priscilla Hubbs; a grandson; and a great grandson.

Graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City on Wednesday, January  8, 2020 at 2:00 PM.  Friends may sign the guestbook from noon to 5:00 PM on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
