IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Waneen K.
Clark
December 19, 1945 – June 22, 2022
Cimarron - Waneen K. Clark peacefully went home with Jesus on June 22, 2022 at her home with much of her beloved family at her side. Waneen was born to Ralph "Clarence" and Reva (Clemmons) Smith in Liberal, Kansas on December 19, 1945.
As a child, she learned to play the piano and developed a life-long love of music, which she shared with all who knew her. She met her husband, Curtis Clark, at the home of their friends Rick and Colleen, who had invited them both over for watermelon and "Lonesome Dove." They were married on August 18, 1990 in Cimarron, Kansas. Together, they had eight children: Dana and Lee Bell of San Angelo, Texas, Whitney Hoskinson of Satanta; Lana and Cody Forester of Sublette; Andi and Mike Curtiss of Ingalls; Clayton and Kelley Clark of Dodge City; Teac and Rob Fry of Avondale, Arizona; Brianne Clark of Amman, Jordan; and Chelsie and Justin Rancier of Blackwell, Oklahoma. Waneen and Curtis made their home in Southwest Kansas for most of the last 32 years.
Waneen worked as a bookkeeper and office manager throughout her life and served as the treasurer of First Baptist Church in Cimarron for many years. She shared her gift of musical talent by playing the piano for church, as well. When she wasn't busy being the best wife, Mom, and Neena, she enjoyed spending time with the Fab Five, traveling with Curtis and their sweet pup Eddie in their RV, spending time on the pontoon boat and attending Praisefest in Branson with their friends.
Waneen loved Jesus and was met at his feet by her parents, her in-laws, Marvin and Ella Clark; her grandson, Marcus Fry; and many other beloved family. She is survived by her husband, Curtis, their children, 18 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Her family will host a celebration of Waneen's life at the First Baptist Church in Cimarron on July 9, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. There is no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Prairie or the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com .
