Dodge City - Wayne Neese, 72, died May 6, 2018 at his home in Dodge City. He was born on October 4, 1945 at Ulysses, Kansas the son of Robert Lewis and Christine (Crawshaw) Neese.
He married Jill Smith on December 26, 1970 at Holton, Kansas, she survives. Mr. Neese served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War, receiving the Purple Heart. He worked as a highway patrolman for many years before retiring. Mr. Neese loved flying in his spare time as well as collecting rocks and fossils for his Geology collection. He was a devoted father and grandfather to all his grandchildren. He loved his Red Bench that his grandson Parker had made for him. He was a member of the EAA#377 and Kiwanis Club of Scott City.
He is survived by his wife Jill of the home, one daughter Jennifer Lix and husband Randy of Dodge City; one son Brad Neese and wife Sheila of Grand Junction, Colorado. He is also survived by five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family will receive friends at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses. Memorials are suggested to Autism Speaks or Pets Miracle in care of the funeral home.
