Greensburg - Willard Dirks, 91, died October 26, 2012 at Bethel Home, Inc. in Montezuma. He was born on April 29, 1921 near Halstead, the son of Gerhard and Carrie (Unruh) Dirks.

Willard grew up near Greensburg and attended Greensburg schools. On March 27, 1949, Willard married Aimee Ann Heer at her parents home in Londale, Oklahoma. They lived on the farm southwest of Greensburg where they raised their family. Willard was a farmer and stockman until his retirement nine years ago. He enjoyed retirement and the free time to spend with family.

Willard was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on April 23, 1950 by Minister Glenn Litwiller. He was a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church of Greensburg.

In addition to his wife, Willard is survived by two sons, Mark Dirks and wife Audrey and Lee Dirks and wife Karen both of Greensburg; one daughter, Gina Ensz and husband Doug of Greensburg; 11 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Lincoln, Allen, John, Gerhard Jr., Henry, and Frank Dirks; and six sisters, Ida Koehn, Osie Dirks, Viola Dirks, Lucille Friesen, Edna Smith, and Sarah Dirks.

Funeral service will be held at Bethel Mennonite Church, Greensburg on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. with Ministers Rod Nace and Charles Schmidt presiding. Burial will follow at Bethel Mennonite Church Cemetery, Greensburg. Visitation will be at Bethel Home in Montezuma on Saturday, October 27, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM and at Bethel Mennonite Church on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
