William "Billy" Louis Gough, 92, of Denver, Colorado died March 30, 2010 at the home he shared with Annie, his wife of 61 years. At his bedside were his son and daughter along with their family, friends, and loving caregivers. After Annie's death on July 4, 2009, his physical and mental strength continued to decline until his kidneys failed. Billy was born on October 16, 1917 at Hutchinson, the son of Chester Leroy and Edith (Jameson) Gough. He served in World War II in the Pacific and in the Korean Conflict as a Master Sergeant. His military service started in the Army Air-corps and ended as an Army Medic. After his military service, Billy and Annie settled in Denver, where Billy worked as a pharmacist, and later a pharmaceutical salesman.
He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Billy is survived by his son, Bill Richard Gough; his daughter, Linda Coppinger; four grandchildren, Kerryann Manley of Dallas, Texas, Elizabeth Fahrney of Denver, Colorado, Michael Coppinger, Jr. of Amarillo, Texas, and David Allen of Denver, Colorado; and five great grandchild, Rian and Rory Manley, Cullen William Fahrney, and Alexandra and Emma Allen. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Annie, and an infant son, Roy.
Graveside service will be held at Concord Cemetery, Ford County, on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. Military rites will be provided by Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W. The family requests donations be made to the Denver Hospice at 501 South Cherry Street, Suite 700-Denver, Colorado 80246.
