SPEARVILLE - Wilma Jean "Jeanie" (Hahn) Schulte, 80, died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the Hodgeman County Long Term Care Center, Jetmore. She was born on August 8, 1929 at Goddard the only daughter of Peter A. and Katharine T. (Ewertz) Hahn.
Jeanie attended Garden Plain and Goddard schools graduating from Goddard High School in 1947. She married Clarence F. (Pete) Schulte at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Garden Plain on June 1, 1948. After their marriage they moved to her husband's farm west of Spearville. Mr. Schulte preceded her in death on March 18, 2001. Jeanie was a homemaker and farmer's wife. Her family was the most important part of her life. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts and geneology of family ancestors from Germany. Jeanie was also an avid sports fan of the Spearville Lancers, Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Lakers.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and the Alter Society all of Spearville.
Jeanie is survived by three sons, Kenneth Schulte and wife Gwen of Dodge City, Lester Schulte and wife Peggy of Spearville, and Rick Schulte and wife Tara of McKinney, Texas; three daughters, Marilyn Kolbeck and husband Lyle of Spearville, Maribeth Matney and husband Greg of Carl Junction, Missouri, and Michelle Lampe and husband Tony of Spearville; brother-In-law, Raymond Schulte and wife Henrietta of Fort Collins, Colorado; three sister-in-laws, Sister Sylvana Schulte of Wichita, Mary Norma Schulte of Spearville and Louise Hahn of Goddard; 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Wilfrich, Lester, and Louis Hahn; and grandson, Russell K. Schulte, son of Kenneth and Gwen Schulte.
Vigil service will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 7:00 PM and Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Spearville. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday, July 19, 2010 from Noon to 3:00 PM. Daughter's of Isabella rosary will be at 4:00 PM on Monday at the church. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association, St. John's Catholic Church or Cemetery, or Ford County EMS in Spearville all in care of the funeral home.
