WILMA JEAN WILLIAMS
Dodge City - Wilma Jean Williams, 73, died April 14, 2013 at her home in Dodge City where she was being cared for by her loving family. She was born on September 14, 1939 at Lawrenceville, IL the daughter of Ira and Eugenia (Gosnell) Kimmel.
Wilma graduated from Lawrenceville Township High School on June 3, 1957 and then attended Lincoln Christian College. She married Larry Williams on June 5, 1960 at Lawrenceville. Wilma was a dedicated & faithful minister's wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She served in many capacities with Larry at churches in Westville, Danville, Bethalto, Bourbonnais, and Greenview, Illinois before coming to Dodge City in 1984. She was founder and director of the Single Mom's and Kids (SMAK) ministry for a number of years at First Christian Church in Dodge City.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband Larry and their five children, Connie Dierking and husband Rob, Paul Williams and his wife Liew, Jeanie Fischer and husband Scott, John Williams and wife Zoraya, and Julie Sanchez and her husband, Mike; 19 grandchildren, Mike, Chris, Briana, Tyler, Joshua, Ashley, Taylor, Chloe, Scott, Lauren, David, Daniel, Kimberly, Linsie, Darious, Marissa, Madeline, Hannah, and Bethany; four great grandchildren, Jordan, Tyson, Hayden, and Braden; her mother, Jean Mullins; and one brother, Don Kimmel.
Wilma was preceded in death by her father, Ira and one brother, David.
Funeral service will be held at First Christian Church in Dodge City on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. with Mr. Richard Crockett and Dr. R.C. Trotter presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Casket will remain closed for the general public but register book can be signed at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 1:00 - 8:00 PM.
