Obituary

Deborah Elaine Keitel, 66 yrs, of Dodge City, died March 4, 2018 at Western Plains Hospital, after a battle with Cancer.

Deborah was born to Robert and Dorothy Satterfield in Fredonia, KS on December 11, 1951. The family moved to Haysville,  just before she started high school. She graduated from Campus High School in 1969. Following her graduation, she met Michael Keitel, the love of her life, and they were married on February 28, 1970. To this union, two children were born: Cameron Laine and Chelsea Ann. They celebrated 48 years of marriage. They loved traveling to Maine and spending time at the 5 Gables Inn. One of their favorite memories was seeing the end of a rainbow there. They were able to make that trip 15 times. Mike and Debbie also loved collecting antiques and listening to music together, especially songs by the band, Kansas.

Debbie worked at Leakers IGA as a checker and as a dental assistant for: Dr. Kauri, Dr. Farha and Dr. Postotnik. She also worked at Hiebert Insurance Agency and Superior Supply. After Mike and Debbie moved to Dodge City, she worked for USD 443 at Lincoln Elementary and Dodge City Middle School. She loved coaching 7 th grade girl's basketball. When she retired, she was the Head Secretary at Dodge City Middle School.

Debbie loved raising their daughters, helping with the grandchildren and helping others. She also enjoyed helping the Cross Country and Track teams. Number one in her life was God. She was an active member of the First Christian Church of Dodge City. She is thankful for all her friends that walked with her until the end of the path where the Lord reached out and took her home.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and brothers Robbie Satterfield and Doug Satterfield.

She is survived by her husband and two daughters:  Cameron Keitel (Long) of Wichita, KS and, Chelsea Ann Rae (Jason) of Kansas City, MO.; grandchildren: Hillary Keitel, Sydney Allala and Brayden Wenta; great-grandchildren: Lilianna, Natalie and Khianna.  She is also survived by her sister, Shelly Satterfield and brother Marty Satterfield.
